a Paris Cafe, 1997
The following
year, she and Hiltner created a 58-minute docu-drama called White Brush Red
Wine Death in a Paris Cafˇ. Shot in Livorno, Italy, White Brush follows a group
of painters to a seaside workshop, where they tangle with the challenge of self
expression and the exigencies of learning from a master. All in good fun, a
faux Peter Greenaway summer movie - White Brush was shown at festivals in Paris
and Montreal.

Meanwhile, M
Ackerman wrote two episodes for The Hunger, a somewhat erotic film series
produced by the late Robin Spry at Telescene. Following this debut, she was
funded by Telefilm Canada to turn her highly praised urban comedy Blue
