Marianne Ackerman

Marianne Ackerman is a writer living in Mile End, Montreal. Her published works include four volumes of plays, four novels and two collections of short stories. A long-time journalist, she is an award-winning theatre critic and free-lancer for many magazines, journals and newspapers. She was co-founder and artistic director of THEATRE 1774, as well as founding editor of The Rover, an online arts magazine. Her most recent book is Oyster, a novel set in Prince Edward County and Toronto, published by Dundurn Press in 2026.
